A tailor-made basket containing 60 g of the prepared straw was
first placed in the constant temperature zone of the reactor, and
nitrogen was circulated through the entire system for 30 min at
0.35 L/min to purge the air of the system. The raw straw-filled basket
was then heated at a rate of 5 C/min to 300–600 C at 0.1 MPa
under different pyrolysis atmospheres (N2, H2, and CO2) and kept
for 1.5 h at the final temperature until there was no pyrolysis
gas. The semi-char was shredded to 0.250–0.380 mm, 0.180–
0.250 mm, 0.150–0.180 mm, and 0.120–0.150 mm, respectively,
and then stored in a desiccator. Table 1 presents the proximate
analysis and ultimate analysis data (the average of three measurements)
of the prepared semi-char. The repeatability of the test procedure
is good. The accuracy of the measurements is high, and the
standard deviation of all measurements is
