3.4. Factors associated with the VIC usage level of the sample farmers
in the study area (Pooled data)
The overall results of the regression analysis to identify the factors
associated with the Village Information Centre usage levels in
the study area i.e., TANUVAS, MSSRF and n-Logue Communication
VIC beneficiaries’ area are given in the Table 4.
An examination of the Table 4 reveals that the adjusted R2 value
of the fitted regression equation was 0.748 which indicates that
74.8% of the variation in the usage level is explained by the nine
independent variables included in the analysis. The table also
shows that out of nine independent variables taken as antecedents
to the usage levels of VIC, only two variables i.e., Land holding and
the knowledge level of the farmers was significantly associated
with the VIC usage level at the 0.01 level of probability and the
regression coefficient for these variables was positively related to
the VIC usage level which indicates the direct relationship between
