Like Harbin, China, many US cities as well as cities in other
countries are currently considering or in the process of converting
municipal bus fleets to alternative clean fuels. This study examined
for the first time the differences between gasoline and CNG buses in
PAHs content and revealed that total PAH concentrations in the
resuspendable fraction of settled bus dust were significantly lower
in the CNG buses than in the gasoline buses, providing the first
evidence for less in-vehicle PAH exposures and indirect evidence of
lower estimated average daily dose associated with CNG buses.
PAHs concentrations in the resuspendable fraction of settled bus
dust from gasoline-fueled buses were much higher than others
public space.
