Wat Phra That Doi Leng is 3 kilometers far from Wat Phra That Cho Hae. It is a celebration event every year on the 15th lunar month 6, with the tradition that when people come to worship Phra That Cho Hae, and then on the last day (15 lunar month 6), people must go up mountain to worship Phra That Doi Leng also. Wat Phra That Doi Leng is another important sanctuary of Phrae. It is located on high mountain in south-east of the Phra That Cho Hae. Built time is unknown, but the temple has been together with What Phra That Cho Hae, and Wat Phra That Chom Chaeng. All 3 temples have been together for centuries. The patriarch of Cho Hae village say that Lord Buddha come here from an evangelism in the south of Doi Go Sataya Chucka Banpot (Go Sataya Chucka Banpot Hill). His arrival is at the dawn, so he called the place as Doi Chuan Chaeng (nearly sun shine).Now that place is known as Phra That Chom Chaeng. Then, he came to the north to come of Doi Go Sataya Chucka Banpot (Go Sataya Chucka Banpot Hill) and stayed there. Khun Lua Ai Kom came to serve him as a fellow, so he gave his hair as a gift, so now this place is called as Phra That Cho Hae. After that, he went up to the mountain in the south-east, and stayed there. Later, that place is Phra That Doi Leng.
