At the end of intensive phase and
end of treatment a chest radiograph and blood tests comprising of
hemogram, liver, renal functions and random blood sugar were
done. Patients who had clinical deterioration or had adverse
reactions to anti-TB drugs were examined by a team of physicians
and any decision to modify the regimen was made by consultation.
Patients who had a successful outcome at the end of treatment
were followed up for 24 months after treatment completion
