One major finding from analyzing the obtained test results was
that an optimal exposure was critical in using the developed method
for rating the color of fruit in a natural environment. Either
overexposure or underexposure could affect the digitization of
the colors significantly and produce an inaccurate rating. This
problem can be illustrated by the digitization results of the color
chart obtained from the test performed under a lighting condition
of ‘‘direct sunshine’’ with ‘‘camera flash on’’.
