House of Dreams
Long ago a poor boy called Peter lived with his parents in tiny cottage. They often did not have enough to eat.
When Peter went to bed hungry, he sometimes had a dream. He was living in a big, warm house. Children dressed in rags sat around a huge table filled with food, eating hungrily. This dream made Peter very happy. But it always faded. Peter woke crying for all the children with nothing to eat.
Peter decided that he must help must help them. He left home to find a way to do this.
One day Peter was walking along a lane. He heard someone groaning. An old man was lying in some bushes. Peter shared his food and water with him. The old man was too badly hurt to move. He sent Peter to a big house nearby to get help.
When servants from that house saw the old man, they rushed to him and treated him very respectfully. He owned the house. Robbers had robbed and beaten him because he had been a hero and saved him. Peter as invited to stay in the big house.
When the old man recovered, he asked Peter why he was travelling. Peter told him his dream. The old man decided to make it come true. He opened his house, and all the hungry children came to be fed there.
