the majority of previous studies have used well-established research methods, such as questionnaire surveys and case studies, to examine the key factors for their respective information system research. However, the purpose of the present research was not to test hypotheses but rather to identify set of Critical success factors for implementation of business intelligence systems, particularly within engineering asset management enterprises. the authors wanted to explore and identify Critical success factors perceived to be important by the interviewees, and so they chose a research method which would allow for the emergence of whatever factors and issues that business intelligence system managers and consultants considered significant. Grounded theory approach was thus deemed to be most appropriate for this study because it ensures deep context categories and facilitates the "discovery of a theory from data systematically obtained from social research
