If you are participating in the Graduation Ceremony this semester and you would like to invite family members and/or friends to attend, our office can provide you with a status letter in support of your invitation.
Before you request an invitation letter, you must formally file a degree application with the office of Records and Registration. Additionally, you must ensure that your address is current in my.newpaltz.edu and that no holds exist on your record.
You can email international@newpaltz.edu or request this letter during walk in hours. This letter will certify your current student visa status and your graduation term. Please provide us with the full name (as it appears on his/her passport), birthdate (written out, e.g. 4 July 1828), and country of citizenship of the person you would like to invite. If you would like the letter to indicate the person’s relationship with you (e.g. father, mother), you must also provide our office with official documentation indicating this relationship.
