To the best of our knowledge, this work is the first study on phenolic compound composition combined with antioxidant activity of C. spinosa seeds collected from different habitats. C. spinosa seeds can be recommended as a potential source of natural antioxidants owing to their high phenolic content and great antioxidant activity. Using C. spinosa seeds to obtain natural antioxidant molecules appears to be an alternative that could replace synthetic antioxidants in food and pharmaceutical products.
