Cross-correlation coefficients between individual and groups of
fatty acids (Table 2) showed that, as it was expected, SFA, MUFA
and PUFA values were highly correlated with major constituents
in each category. Thus, SFA displayed high correlations coefficients
with C16:0 and C18:0 (0.97 and 0.96, respectively); correlation
coefficient between MUFA and C18:1 was 0.98, and between PUFA
and C18:2 was 0.99.
