Not long ago, in Laos there are a hundred singer brands that brought the modern music and new singing culture to the country. It started point from the neighbor country as Thailand. In the same direction, recent years Lao popular music has run in Thailand with the success of contemporary Lao musicians such the very popular either in Laos and oversea such as: Alexandra, L.O.G, and Cells. Cells second Lao album ‘Saew’, which was released by Thai label GMM / Grammy company in 2007 and received top 20 radio airplay in Bangkok for hit singles ‘Waan’ and ‘Leuk Leuk’. Music videos for ‘Waan’ and ‘Leuk Leuk’ have proved their popularity on Thai music video channels and Cells have made several concert tours of Thailand to promote the album.
Sometime we will see that the local people tried to create modern music styles, in the opposite way, there are so many foreigner groups who need to show their power of music creation through the traditional music styles. In 2012 there is one album, which is being released by Indee Records Company in Laos. This is the second album for them. This album is about good time that people can enjoy they life with modern traditional music from foreigners in Lao version. The album has linked from a taste of Mor Lam (traditional Lao folk music), the disposable pop and epic rock music style. The themes of their songs are linked to daily life of teenagers in city of Laos.
