The resultant pulp was immediately sieved through a screen (25 mesh) and suspended in water.This separates the fibrous
and other coarse root materials from the starch pulp. The starch pulp milk was allowed to sediment for 4 – 6 h before decanting the supernatant. The resultant thick starch cake at the bottom of the bowl was then pressed to remove the remaining water. The bright white coloured starch cake obtained was sun-dried for 72 h (Figure 1).
