Hey Nat,
The reason that both of us travelled to Seoul on the day was so that my partner could be identified as a signatory at the Thai embassy, to return once the visa was issued to retrieve my passport, she does actually live with me full time but being a Thai national, she does not require a visa to live and work in Thailand, the second tickets were for her to return to the Embassy in Seoul the week after to retrieve my passport. The option would have been for me to take a second day off work and lose a second days earnings at 1000 US dollars per day, I already sacrificed 1000 US dollars to attend the medical examination and submit the visa application. If it preferable to the project that I remove the train fares from the expenses claim (although it is money that I have actually outlaid from my own pocket for good reasoning) and perhaps claim the lost earnings instead (I was working for KBR in Korea and the lost income is easy to substantiate) . You may also be reminded that we did spend our own money to stay in a hotel in Seoul overnight prior to the Embassy visit and the appointment at the medical center, but omitted this from the claim. I have the receipts for that also that I will be happy to lodge if we are going to make an issue out of the train fares. If you had read the Word document that I had attached to the claim with the breakdown of costs and the justification for same, maybe we wouldn’t be having this rapport. I have wasted too much of my working time on this already and my next step is to escalate the issue to manangement. With regards, Ross Tresidder
