Research on transgenic rice
Research using transgenic technology to enhance iron
content in rice has made some progress. Takahashi et al.
[22] introduced the Naat-A gene with a 35S promoter in
rice, and obtained some iron-efficient rice strains in
calcareous soil. DeVasconcelos et al. [23] introduced
Ptv-bar/Fer increasing iron accumulation and Pcambia1300/
fro2 enhancing iron absorption separately into
the original embryo cell of Indian rice germplasm
CVIR68144. By screening and identifying, it was proved
that both iron distribution and accumulation were
enhanced. The gene encoding ferritin discovered in
