5. Often guests do not know that nicer accommodation is available. It is your responsibility to act as
a salesperson and suggest better category rooms.
6. Promote the special features and benefits of the room.
- Sell a room of your deluxe category to business person, telling him or her about the
advantages the rooms has (size/location /outfit etc.).
7. Do not be deceptive when upselling. NEVER tell a guest that only the higher rate room is
available unless this is true. When the guest does not want the higher grade room or seems to
hesitate, immediately offer one of the alternative available rooms.
