The present study arises from a three year
randomised controlled trial. The sample comprised
20 out-patients with a DSM-IV diagnosis
of schizophrenia spectrum disorder (14
males; six females; mean age, 39 years; age
range 25–66 years). This preliminary sample
comprised the first 20 individuals to initiate
early signs monitoring. Individuals
were followed up, on average, for 10 months
(range 5–13 months).
