This study utilized BaSO4 instead of lead to develop an environmentally-friendly radiation shielding sheet and mixes other materials to increase its poor miscibility. The aims were to develop a composition and process to enhance the porosity and shielding rate, and evaluate the efficiency.
In addition, the most effective mixing composition was determined by measuring the radiation doses with 0.05–0.35 mmPb to compare the shielding rate of newly manufactured sheets with that of standard lead.
