It was a pleasure meeting Ms. Ploenchit Pawangsawat and Mr. Tossapon Piantanakulchai last week at the “8th Regional Level Training Workshop for Wetland Managers in East and Southeast Asia” which was organized by the RRC-East Asia in Suncheon, RO Korea.
During the workshop, there was a session to introduce the new Ramsar Strategic Plan 2016-2024, and the template for Ramsar Contracting Parties to submit their national targets for implementing the Strategic Plan (Resolution XII.2).
According to the Diplomatic Note which was sent out by the Ramsar Secretariat dated 31 August 2016 (attached), Parties wishing to provide information on their national targets can do so online or by using Section 4 (page 32-42) of the National Report form (attached). The deadline for Parties to return their national targets to the Secretariat is 30 November 2016.
To help the development of your national targets, please find attached a copy of the Ramsar Strategic Plan (2016-2024). Below, are links to the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and the Sustainable Development Goals which may also be useful.
