Responsibilities
Summary
Suwannimit Foundation (SNF) is a Thailand registered foundation dedicated to strengthening the operational capacity and programming impact of community-based organizations that service underprivileged people on the Thailand-Burma border.
The Assistant Trainer (Part-time) for TCC Junior Accountant Course (AT) will be based in Mae Sot and will co-training with the PLE Partner Finance Trainer (PFT). The AT will assist PFT in preparing quality accounting training curriculum in accordance with the approved TCC Junior Accountant course and adjusting the teaching methodology to meet the learning pace of trainees. The AT will ensure that appropriate quality control mechanisms are in place for the course. The AT will also provide mentoring and support to trainees to ensure that the formal training program will be successfully implemented.
Job Specific
Adjust course modules and curriculum for a quality Basic Accounting and Financial Management curricular, aligned with the current TCC curriculum
Function as co-trainer for the TCC Junior Accountant course and assist in the preparation of all necessary lesson plans and materials
Assist in establishing appropriate quality control mechanisms for the TCC Junior Accountant course to ensure quality implementation of the course, and to monitor and measure the impact of the course on the knowledge and skills of participants
Work closely with principal trainer (PFT) and the SNF Education Coordinator to prepare course assessment plans to examine the knowledge and skills of trainees
Work with SNF Education Coordinator to address the requirements of TCC with respect to subject credits and other issues as needed
Adjust existing practicum check list to support the development of practical skills
Organize tutorial classes as necessary for participants of the TCC courses
Provide day to day mentoring and support to trainees in their job settings, providing guidance on applying the theory in practice
To perform other duties as requested
Position Requirements
Education
Bachelor or masters degree in finance or equivalent degree with special accounting and finance management course
Work Experience
At least 2 years’ experience working in financial management in business and/ or humanitarian field;
At least two years’ working with civil society partners in a capacity building/ organizational development;
Skills/Knowledge/Aptitude
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to design and deliver trainings and facilitate workshops;
Able to work independently while being a strong team player;
Culturally sensitive with the ability and interest to identify and work with a multi-ethnic team;
Familiarity with delivery of administration, education, and humanitarian assistance for displaced Burmese
Language(s)
Fluency in English and Burmese
