In the first set of experiments, standard glucose medium (30 g/l) with nitrogen supplements was used for the continuous production of ethanol. In the second set of experiments, enzymatic hydrolysate of C. forskohlii roots (glucose 30.3 g/l) without nitrogen supplements was used for continuous ethanol production. In the third set, concentrated hydrolysate of C. forskohlii roots (glucose 72 g/l) was used. In the fourth set of experiments, C. forskohlii root hydrolysates (glucose 71 g/l) supplemented with nitrogen components and con- tinuous aeration was used for the continuous ethanol production. Dilution rates were altered whenever a steady state was reached in terms of production of ethanol and use of substrates.
