Variations and Extensions
In its most traditional form, Reciprocal Learning serves as a review and
practice strategy with activities designed around objective exercises or
the demonstration of a particular skill. However, both research and classroom
practice demonstrate that the strategy has a significant impact
when applied to building reading comprehension and developing
problem-solving skills. In this section, we discuss two variations of Reciprocal
Learning dedicated to reading and solving difficult problems—Peer
Reading and Peer Problem Solving.
