The Ministry is planning to create an advanced judicial branch which will provide people-oriented judicial services through the strategic utilization of information technology. It is gradually implementing the * Long-term Development Plan for Achieving Judicial Informatization* , established in June 1998 to pursue informatization of the judicial branch employees, to systemize judicial procedures, and to provide judicial information services to the general public. The Ministry also plans to integrate the information system related to lawsuit management with other internal systems such as the comprehensive legal information center. The resulting network will provide access to outside users, including the general public and more specifically, prosecutors.
The MIC is planning to link the Immigration Control Authority and the correction bureau of the Ministry of Justice to the existing criminal judicial network during 1999, and to disseminate information to all institutions dealing with criminal cases by 2002.
