The Johns Hopkins University School of Education had one of the year's most adorable graduates.
When Carlos Mora received his Masters of Science in Counseling this spring, his service dog, Kirsch, was also awarded an honorary degree for having attended all of his owner's classes. Kirsch fit right in with the rest of the grads as he donned a cap and gown for the May 23 ceremony.
Photos of Mora and Kirsch keep popping up thanks to Tumblr, after first gaining traction on Reddit.
College officials read this statement when the pair walked across the stage:
Our last counseling degree graduate to walk across the stage tonight is Carlos Mora and his service dog Kirsch. Since Kirsch sat through every class with Carlos, both will be receiving a master's degree in mental health counseling. We want everyone to know that Kirsch was not charged for his degree.
Like his owner, Kirsch received a Master of Science in Counseling degree, signed by both School of Education Dean David Andrews and Vice Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Cheryl Holcomb-McCoy.
After the ceremony, they had a little trouble getting Kirsch to pose for the camera.
(You may recognize the gentleman on the right as Wes Moore, host of "Beyond Belief" on OWN and former special assistant to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.)
This time they came close.
Congratulations to both Mora and Kirsch!
