3.2. Plant growth, yields and test weight under pot condition
An overview of the combined effect of three PGPR strains on the growth of wheat plant over uninoculated control was presented in Fig. 1, while the detailed values are shown in Table 3. Combined inoculation of dual A. chlorophenolicus and Enterobacter and triple strains B. megaterium, A. chlorophenolicus and Enterobacter gave sign- ificantlyenhanced 14.0% and 17.5% plant height, respectivelyas com- pared to uninoculated control. Single inoculation of B. megaterium and Enterobacter also showed significant 12.3% plant height over uninoculated control. Among different strains, triple combination of B. megaterium, A. chlorophenolicus and Enterobacter showed signifi- cant and maximum 79.8% grain yield while dual inoculated strains gave 1.44 fold more value as compared to uninoculated control. However, all single inoculated treatments showed significant effect in grainyield over uninoculated control. B. megaterium yielded 51.4% greater grain than uninoculated control. Result indicated that the highest value of straw yield 78.6% achieved by triple combination of B. megaterium, A. chlorophenolicus and Enterobacter as compared to uninoculated control. Dual inoculated strains showed 1.43 fold and single inoculations gave 1.37 to 1.40 fold more straw yield over uninoculated control. Inoculation with PGPR strains also caused significant increases in grain and straw yields of all the treatments as compared with their respective uninoculated controls. The max- imum values for growth and yield in our case were obtained
