This study considered a battery case model with a scale applicable to real cars and analyzed the use of a deep drawing process for forming rectangular cases using the commercial program Deform.
On the basis of the results, a prototype was manufactured. The experimental results for this prototype were compared with the analysis results to determine the shape difference.
The results are as follows:
1. The analysis results showed that a product could be created using the proposed five-step process.
For each process, the load difference per stroke and the strain of the material in response to the load difference were verified.
The measurement results and thickness change for the manufactured sample showed that the experimental results for the thickness distribution along the long and short axes were similar to those in the analysis results, showing a relative thickness deviation of approximately 2%.
