My mater thesis study about the different size distribution of claystone effect to shear strength of claystone backfill.
The objective of this test was simulate degradation of claystone’s size because of deterioration effect to shear strength of claystone backfill.
By simulate, when size of claystone that use as backfill is smaller because of deterioration, How it is effect to shear strength of backfill.
Direct shear test conducted to find shear strength of backfill.
In this test was simulate size of claystone sample by divided into 3 single size. That is 1 inch 0.5 inch and 4.75 mm.
By the sample will control the moisture content at 26% that is moisture same as in the field.
