Off campus, we all know that the person who gets her money back on an unsatisfactory product is the one who complains loudest and most persistently. Why should students be any different?
In the corporate world, business often puts profit before everything, producing products that are “good enough” to sell well, but not as good as they can be. In the academic world, professors create multiple-choice tests because it takes less time to grade them, even when an essay question would allow the student to show his understanding so much better. Young people are watching and learning from the rest of us every step of the way. Let’s heal ourselves before we blame them.
