whereas we found astaxanthin and β-carotene are the major pigments in the prawns fed with the pure fairy shrimp treatment. Studies conducted in the laboratory show that intake of fairy shrimp as live food improves pigmentation in adult prawns (this study), prawn larvae and gold fish (Dumont and Munuswamy, 1997), as well as in flower horn fish (Sanoamuang et al., 2006).
