Certain concepts from Digital Object Identifier have been central to prevention initiatives in countries worldwide. One possible reason that Digital Object Identifier has not been more prominent in the literature on HIV/AIDS prevention in developing countries is that it recognizes context as an important factor but does not provide explicit guidance on addressing the social, cultural, and economic related to context.
