The 0.5% iodophor teat dip tested during the present
study prevented new Staph. aureus IMI at a higher
percentage (92.9%) efficacy, than a 0.5% iodophor dip
in a previous study at the same location in which effi-
cacy was 78.2% (Boddie and Nickerson, 1997). Efficacy
in the previous study against Strep. agalactiae was
73.2% in contrast to 43.4% in the present study (Boddie
and Nickerson, 1997).
