3.4.4 - Temperature controls
3.4.4.1 - Short-circuit any control that limited the temperature during the tests of §3.4.2 and §3.4.3. Items that are eligible to be short-circuited include, but are not limited to, fuses and any type of thermostat.
3.4.4.1.1 - If the control consists only of positive temperature co-efficient (PTC) resistors, negative temperature co-efficient (NTC) resistors, or voltage dependent resistors (VDRs), they are not short-circuited if they are used within their manufacturers’ declared specification.
3.4.4.2 - If any control as described in §3.4.4.1 was short-circuited, repeat the test of §3.4.2.
3.4.4.3 - If there is more than one control that meets the description given in §3.4.4.1, conduct a separate test for each control. Do not short-circuit two or more controls simultaneously.
