Reading 3 (READ 130)
In this 1-hour course, instructors are guided by the language application for this level, “explain”, as students
practice being active, fluent readers of English, especially to expand on ideas they read. As students develop
successful language building and reading strategies, they talk and write about a variety of general-interest
readings. At the same time, students increase their vocabulary and improve their use of grammatical structures.
NOTE: A proficiency score of 80%+ in Reading 3 is required for enrollment in Academic Reading & Writing 4.
