Regarding the detailed analysis of economic and social links, the development of a possible
international sub-classification of the household sector is proposed. Such a classification may be
developed on the basis of several criteria, including socio-economic characteristics such as the level of
education or the occupational category of the reference person, whether the household is an agricultural
household or not, whether it is located in a rural, urban or other area, the size of the household, etc. Size
of income may also be used as a classification criterion.
