Bioactive-glasses and glass-ceramics enter into chemical bond formation with bone through a biologically active apatite layer formed by simulated-body-fluid on their surfaces. In this study bioactive-glass-nanofibres based on SiO2–CaO–MgO–P2O5 system were prepared by electrospinning using poly (vinyl pyrrolidone). The results of the study demonstrated that nanofibres' diameter decreased from 246 nm to 156 nm after calcination at 600 °C as a result of polymer elimination. Also bioactive glass-ceramic-nanofibres were prepared by treatment at higher temperatures. In vitro test in simulated body fluid solution showed high bioactivity of the prepared glass-nanofibres.
