In conclusion, there are numerous pros and cons of these genetically modified organisms. Ultimately, we must come to the conclusion that GMOs may have downfalls for humans and the environment, but are economically beneficial. I personally do not have a stand on GMOs – if I were an economist, I would be pro-GMO. The benefits of genetically modified organisms, such as being cheaper to grow, growing much more than what could usually be yielded, and the benefits of being engineered with vitamins and minerals, is too great to pass up. With these GM foods, there is a potential to solve the one of the worst epidemics in the world – world hunger. However, on the contrary, I think I speak for many people when I say that I’d like to know what I am eating. I would also like to have the choice to eat GM foods or organic, just like I have the choice to use a pen or a pencil.
