b) Power the bolted joints in the copper conductors of the assembled section; the bolt heads shall point downwards (G8)
The upper connectors must be installed first. To do so, shift the lower connectors towards the right or left.
Push the next powerail section (suspended from sliding hangers) against the first section and insert the bolted joints into the copper conductors.
-Push the powerail sections together and tighten the bolted joints centrically (G9).
Tightening torque=4Nm
Smoothing the joints
The inspection hole in the housing allows to control the copper conductors optically and by touch.
- If necessary smooth the joints with emery cloth (G10).
Housing joints and end caps
- Position the joint cap centrically on the joint.
The lips of the cap shall engage the grooves (1) of the powerail profile (G11).
- Press the clopable joint caps together(G12).
- To check the joint, insert a current collector (see section “Inserting current collector”) and push it along the section.
- Put the end caps on the powerail ends.
- Bolt the end caps ti the powerails (G13).
Insertion of current collector
Risk of injury by electric shock!
Prior to inserting or removing a current collector, disconnect the powerail from the mains!
