Narawan Poonpipat (1986 : 78-79) states that there are five goals for
listening. First, listen to understand and capture an important key then transfer to
others. Second, listen to capture the main and supporting details and comply into a
summary. Third, listen to analyze and identify what is a reason, fact or it is only a
comment. Forth, listen to interpret the message that speaker wants to tell to his
audience. Finally, listen to evaluate the message which is listened that it is good or
bad and why or why not.
