Further, there is a significant effect (p b 0.05) of the type of essential oil tested. Clove essential oil inhibited studied mold growth at concentra- tions ≥ 92.56 μL/Lair, while concentrations ≥ 15.42 μL/Lair of mustard es- sential oil were needed. Mustard essential oil was most effective inhibiting the evaluated mold. According to Delaquis and Mazza (1995), the range in which AITC inhibits fungal growth ranges from 3.8 to 118 μg of AITC/mLair when tested on agar, so MICs of tested mus- tard essential oil falls within this range.
