Croatian water agency Odvodnja has awarded a consortium comprising SUEZ and Austrian construction company Strabag projects to design and construct four wastewater treatment plants.
The contract, which is co-funded by the European Union to the tune of 78%, is worth a total of €38 million, of which €22 million for SUEZ.
The project covers the design and construction of four wastewater treatment stations, equipped with membrane bioreactors and with a total capacity of 137,500 population equivalent. The treated water will be reused for agricultural irrigation.
The project also provides for the construction of an additional 62km of wastewater networks, the rehabilitation of 23km of the existing network and the construction of 52 pumping stations.
