Seoul: Kpop-filled Trip – Part 4 (Going to BIGHIT ENTERTAINMENT + side trip to Myeongdong)

January 29, 2015 (A Continuation) -I became a fan of BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan just recently and the last time I went to Korea (April 2014) I didn’t go to Big Hit’s Building. But this time I didn’t pass up the chance. This was the highlight of my day because it’s going to be my first time going there and I’m a huge fan of BTS now – wishing that I’ll be seeing them again (was able to be meet them last December 7, 2014 at the The Red Bullet II in Manila).

After going to the other Entertainment Agencies (Here’s a link of my blog: https://wanderlustyeoja.wordpress.com/2015/03/13/seoul-kpop-filled-trip-part-3-going-around-entertainment-companies/) I find my way to Sinsa Station Line 3 which is the nearest Subway station to Big Hit.

Just walk straight…

Once you reach the 5th street from Sinsa Station you’ll see this Hotel: 영동관광 호텔/ Yeongdong GwanGwang Hotel, then turn Right from there.

Just walk straight and on the 3rd road, Turn Left. The road is uphill again (most of the streets I walked at here in Seoul were so tiring – it’s all going up. A cardio workout for me to shed all the calories I ate in this vacation. Whew.

The ambiance of the neighborhood was somehow different from that of SM Entertainment’s location. Maybe because there were no trees just buildings and houses unlike at SM’s location where there were more trees – a refreshing feel. But I enjoyed my stroll here as well thinking that BTS have walked this streets as well.

Once you turn Left on the 3rd street, walk straight once again until you reach a 3rd street again, then turn Right… you’ll see Big Hit Entertainment’s Building.

I was alone at that time. But after a few minutes 2 teenage girls (younger than me) arrived and were also there to see Bangtan. We talked and waited for quite a while both wishing that Bangtan will show up any time. 1 of them is a fan but the other is not. She just accompanied her friend who came from the province to visit here at BigHit. The fan is a Jungkook fan. But after about 15 minutes they bid “Annyeonghi Kyeseyo Eonnie” to me ’cause they can no longer stand the coldness anymore.

I manage to enter the building but not past the Big Hit Office (I’m not THAT snoopy).

I tried to take peek inside this glass doors but I guess Bangtan was not there (because they had an event last night – The 4th Gaon Chart Kpop Awards - prior to this day and maybe they were resting at their dorm).

I only managed to see 2 girls (maybe back-up dancers or make-up/stylists noonas). The boys were only in my imagination — beyond these doors is where they first started and continued to become great at what they do. Yey Bangtan

After going to BIG HIT ENTERTAINMENT I decided to just go to MYEONGDONG to buy gifts, make-up and most importantly, KPOP ALBUMS and MERCHANDISES!

It’s been a while Myeongdong (my 2nd favorite place in Seoul – cause of the numerous Make-up store!) And outside of the subway station exit you’ll find this cute waiting shade --- Princess Hours - my favorite KDrama ever <3

It’s already 5 pm KST and I haven’t eaten my lunch. So I just decided to eat at McDonald’s (I have a thing that when I go on a vacation abroad I always eat at fast food chains just to compare the taste of the food back home).

I ordered a Shanghai Burger Set which costs 5,500 won or 216 Php. But I only managed to eat the fries and took home the burger instead. I was so full!

While enjoying my lunch/dinner I suddenly saw this bus that still has the picture of Luhan and Kris on it. I miss them T_T (almost choked and seriously teared up when I saw this).

After eating I went down to the Myeongdong Underground Shopping Center and hoarded Kpop Albums :) was in heaven at that time (plus it’s really warm there that’s why I stayed a bit longer). Then I went out again at the shopping street of Myeongdong to buy make-ups, YIPEEEEEEE!

Myeongdong has lots of shops (local to foreign brands) – lit-up signages are a pretty interesting sight.

There are many foreigners here. More than the local people. Our ski tour guide mentioned to us that these days Myeongdong is not a popular hangout place anymore for locals because it became a tourist spot and prices in the restaurants became expensive.

After I have bought all the things on my shopping list I went home. I was so tired from all the walking that I did but at the same time I was happy to be able to visit various places connected with Kpop.

It’s a waste that I wasn’t able to go to Viva Polo Restaurant (Chanyeol’s Mom’s Italian Restaurant) because it’s sooooooooooo far away from the places that I went. But I’ll surely go there next time that I visit South Korea – I also need to visit Jellyfish and WM Entertainment next time.

January 29, 2015 (A continuation) – I was determined to go to the places that I planned to visit for the day that even though my feet were screaming out of pain I just go on with my adventure.

Next Stop –> SM Entertainment, FNC Entertainment, JYP, Cube

First I went to SM Entertainment. From COEX Atrium/ Samseong Station Line 2 or Green Line I travelled to Apgujeong Rodeo Station.

The atmosphere in this station is very different. A Rich, Elite-kind of atmosphere. You can totally tell that you’re in a rich part of the city :D
