Step-By-Step: Mounting The Shade
1. Prepare the wooden board by covering with the lining material, using a stapler. On one side of the board, mark a 2'' line all the way across. With the shade face up, staple the top edge of the shade to the board, at the line.

2. After the shade is stapled in place, staple a piece of matching fabric, face down, 1/2'' inset from the front edge. Flip over and staple to the back edge of the board, tucking under the raw edges. This is the edge of the board that will be against the wall so the staples will not show.

3. On the underside of the board, place a mark on the board centered over each column of tape, 1'' from the back of the shade. Insert a screw eye at each mark.

4. Unroll the Encased Lift Cord Tape and pick out the cords, from each column of tape, just above the last tack point. (You will be removing the cord from the excess tape only, not the tape attached to the shade). After the cord has been pulled out of the tape, cut away excess tape allowing extra to staple to the board. (Photo 5)

5. Starting at the side of the shade with the shortest cord, thread the cord through the screw eye above. Repeat for the neighboring cord, taking it through the screw eye above the tape and through the previous screw eye. Continue across the shade until all the cords are threaded through the screw eyes and exiting together out to the side of the shade.

6. Check to make certain that the shade is level. Do this by gently tugging each cord to make sure they are all pulling up at the same point. Insert all the cords through the hole in top (larger half) of the Cord Condenser. 7. Screw the top and bottom pieces together with the single cord hanging down. (Photo 7) Thread the single cord through the hole on the Cord Tassel and tie a knot at the desired length.
