In the simulation model, the tank was divided into 20
equal-volume segments. The effect of the number of segments
on the predicted long-term performance was investigated
by comparing the long-term performance to an 80-
node tank model, and it was found that due to the high circulation
flow rate in the tank, the top portion of the tank is
relatively mixed during the day time, and therefore the
number of nodes in the tank is not a critical factor affecting
the validation of the computation
