Most often, in pursuance of the profit margin,
tour companies may present and promote partial
environmental images of the Third World's nature
attractions. These wilderness images play well to the
western mind looking for exotic environments which
offer opportunities for wildlife viewing and adventure.
The end result is often a distorted tourist image
of 'wild Africa', a land of deserted beaches, roaring
lions, trumpeting elephants and semi-naked and
bare-breasted natives.
