However, up to our
knowledge, systematic studies have not been reported about the
properties of polysaccharide-based films made from EOs-loaded
nanoemulsions prepared by microfluidization. Therefore, the
purpose of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial, physical
and mechanical properties of edible films obtained from alginatebased
nanoemulsions loaded with EOs (thyme, TH-EO; lemongrass,
LG-EO or sage, SG-EO), as well as characterizing the physicochemical
properties of the EO nanoemulsions relating them with
the edible film properties.
