hey-
i have been lifting for 3 years but have only become serious about improving my body for the past 9 months. i have made a lot of progress and i don't want to lose it.
i work about 70 hours per week doing manual labor [asphalting, i spend most of the day in trucks and working on roads and parking lots]. that means i work mon-sat starting at 6am and finishing somewhere between 5 and 8pm. i have been on this schedule for about 2 weeks now.
my current eating plan is a protein shake and some carbs in the morning. i bring 3 cold cut sandwiches and some cashews to work and eat them throughout the day. when i get home i am usually hungry so i have a big dinner with all the regular good stuff.
i lift in the evenings and use a 3-day split. i used to do cardio a couple of times a week but have dropped it because i'm usually too beat.
i'm concerned because i seem to be getting fatter than i was prior to starting work. not really fat, just a little bit more than i am used to. im guessing my diet is the problem because it is loaded with sodium and my parents cooking is not as healthy as i am used to. i also thought it could be the lack of cardio, but i'm pretty sure i burn a lot of calories at work. also, i have been getting about 2 hours less sleep than i used to get which might be causing my body to act differently.
does anybody have any food or workout suggestions? i need some ideas.
