For the second part, the percentage of positive Meixner
test interpretation was determined by grouping the low
and high amounts of each analyte together (the 100 mg and
200 mg of 5-hydroxytryptamine, etc). In addition, all 4
samples of the 5-substituted tryptamines were analyzed
together as one group. The amount of a-amanitin determined
in the first experiment was used as the criterion
standard for a positive test.
