Performing LC at high temperatures requires accurate control of
the temperatures of both the column and the incoming mobile
phase (Djordjevic, Fowler, & Houdiere, 1999). Efficient circulating
air ovens and solvent temperature conditioners for high
temperature LC (HTLC) have recently been made commercially
available, allowing temperature programmed elutions. These systems
also include post-column mobile-phase refrigeration devices
to protect hardware if necessary and to stabilize detector signals
