In detail, Horeca anticipates to decrease their logistics costs per unit, or in other words
outsource their logistics services to a 3PL provider who achieves cost advantages
through synergies in multi-client warehouse and distribution environments. Moreover,
Horeca would expect to experience a service level increase in warehousing and in
deliveries to Horeca’s customers thus representing a superior service compared to
performing these services in-house. The appointed 3PL provider is also expected to
bring innovation and process improvements to the Horeca supply chain.
The mindset of Horeca’s owners, and thus the way Horeca conducts business is very
much driven by the idea of partnerships and close collaborations. While this RFP might
refer to the respondents as “suppliers” at times, the clear intention is to build a long-term
and integrated partnership with a 3PL provider that both parties grow and benefit from.
