Babesia-positive dogs were divided into three treatment groups: (i) intramuscular injection with a single dose of imidocarb dipropionate (6 mg/kg of body weight); (ii) intramuscular injection with a single dose of imidocarb dipropionate (6 mg/kg of body weight) plus oral administration of doxycycline (10 mg/kg of body weight); and (iii) intramuscular injection with a single dose of imidocarb dipropionate (6 mg/kg of body weight) plus oral administration of doxycycline for 30 days (at dosages of 10 mg/kg of body weight).
